Harrogate-based McCormicks Solicitors has won two national rankings for its expertise in Sport Law and Mediation in the latest edition of a leading guide to the legal profession, Chambers UK 2018.
The firm wins a further three rankings in different areas, including as the only Harrogate firm ranked for Crime in Yorkshire, as well as for Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Employment.
Chambers carries out research with clients and competitors to establish its recommendations. Senior Partner Peter McCormick OBE is ranked as an individual for Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Sport and Employment. He is described by the Guide as being “extremely experienced, savvy and commercial”, with one source saying, “he leads by example and is one of the most impressive lawyers I have every worked with’’.
Emphasising his reputation in Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Guide says of Peter McCormick: “The people he acts for like him and he does well by them. McCormick regularly advises large landed Estates”.
McCormicks is ranked equal first in the region for Crime, although individual lawyers are no longer ranked by Chambers in this field.
