We are pleased to have supported community causes in the Harrogate district and further afield in the past few weeks.
The McCormicks team Go Bright
- We repeated our sponsorship of the Theakston Old Peculiar Crime Writing Festival by again contributing to the cost of the main event tent in the grounds of Harrogate’s Old Swan Hotel.
A sell-out audience saw friend of this practice Elly Griffiths take the Crime Novel of the Year title with The Frozen People, while the annual Outstanding Contribution Award went to David Baldacci.
A packed schedule for the festival saw contributions from a host of leading crime writers, including Ann Cleeves, Ardal O’Hanlon, Vaseem Khan, Val McDermid.
- We were the main sponsors of the Go Bright Fun Run at Fountains Abbey, helping to raise awareness and funds for Mind in Harrogate District which supports mental health.
Our team, formed from our own running club, put up a strong performance and it was inspiring to see so many people come together to support such an important cause. Every runner, volunteer, supporter and organiser played a part in making the day such a success.
- Max Marsden of our Criminal Department took to the streets of Ilkley to complete a challenging half-marathon course to raise more than £900 for the Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation, which supports young people and organisations helping them across Yorkshire.
