Life in Harrogate

Harrogate is universally rated as one of the finest places to live and work in the UK. In 2006, the town was voted the fourth best to live in Britain by Channel 4. It is a lively (some might say trendy!) cosmopolitan spa town situated in the heart of the UK.

Its equidistant location from London and Edinburgh and from the east and west coasts makes it a convenient and accessible place to live and work.

Leeds/Bradford International Airport is 20 minutes away. The town's railway station connects with the main east coast railway line at York and Leeds and travellers can be in London from York in less than 2 hours.

The M1 motorway concludes less than a 30 minutes drive from Harrogate and connects with the A1 motorway to bring motorists within 15 minutes of the town.

Harrogate is renowned for its elegant buildings, landscaped gardens and bustling café culture. There are bars, restaurants and nightclubs offering a wealth of choice and variety to suit any taste. The town and its surrounding area are steeped in heritage and tradition.

The attractions draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to Harrogate every year and the outstanding beauty of the Yorkshire Dales and historic cities and towns such as York, Ripon and Knaresborough are just a short drive away.

Harrogate is famous as a shopping destination with a combination of major stores and individual boutiques. It is also a centre in the UK for antique and craft shops.

There are a number of beautiful villages in the surrounding area and the centre of the town provides an opportunity to live right in the heart of this vibrant region with a number of new developments taking place mixing in tastefully with the award-winning established properties.
