Property Team Boost at McCormicks Solicitors

North Yorkshire law firm McCormicks Solicitors has further strengthened its Property Team with the promotion of its Head of Commercial Property to Partner and the appointment of a new Head of Residential Property.

Claire Baker-Kemp becomes a Partner at the Harrogate-based practice, while Lauren Duxbury has been appointed as Head of Residential Property.

Claire has extensive experience in Commercial Property transactions. She has acted in a wide range of matters, including the acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold commercial properties including offices, shopping centres, business parks, retail premises, industrial units, residential care homes, hotels, pubs and restaurants.

She acts in transactional landlord and tenant work, including lease renewals and assignments, and is well-versed in land acquisition.

Claire joined McCormicks from an investment company where she managed the legal aspects of the extensive property portfolio, including the provision of related strategic and commercial advice to the board, and dealt with freehold and leasehold property acquisitions and disposals and landlord and tenant matters.

Lauren Duxbury

She has acted for the NHS, a major supermarket chain, the Department of Transport, an international shopping centre developer, financial institutions, local authorities, property developers, companies, landowners, partnerships, sole traders and individuals.

Lauren Duxbury is an experienced Conveyancer with expertise in dealing with Residential Property transactions from beginning to completion.

During her career with local law firms, she has developed a particular focus on retirement, developer, new homes, estate and high net worth work.
